Events happening to celebrate Queen Victoria Day on May 22, 2017.

Queen Victoria Day is a statuary holiday celebrated to mark the Birthday of Queen Victoria, and for 2017 it falls on May 22. It is also known as May Two-Four and is a public holiday packed full of events for you to enjoy.

The fun kicks off on the 19th May with a fireworks display at Queen Victoria Park. Starting at 10pm, and it heralds the start of the illumination season whereby regular displays will take place. Whilst the views will encompass the whole of the Niagara wherever you are staying, one of the best places to watch is onboard the Hornblowers cruise which runs every night.

As 2017 marks Canada’s 150th Birthday, there are extra special events happening right across the season including throughout Victoria Day. These encompass all aspects of art and culture so there has never been a better time to visit us and get involved.

If you are looking for family friendly fun, The Virgil Stampede runs throughout the whole four days and has everything from face painting, free pony rides, miniature horse shows and plenty of rides and attractions for the whole family. Entry is $5 (children go free!) and on Victoria Day itself the events run from 9.30am through to 9.30pm.

This event is celebrating its 51st year in 2017, and is one of the most popular destinations year on year for families and thrill-seekers alike.

Perhaps you ain’t nothing but a hound dog? Great news as The Niagara Falls Elvis Festival runs from May 19th through May 21st 2017 at The Greg Frewin Theatre, so ideal if you are here for the whole holiday and want to break out those blue suede shows whilst you’re with us.

Of course, one main attraction for everyone is going to be the falls themselves. If you are wishing to visit them be aware it is likely to be incredibly busy so you should arrive early to secure parking and ensure you get to see everything on your list. It’s a good idea to plan ahead especially if you are traveling from out of town for the events.

You can book tickets for the boat or plan a hiking trip to explore in a way to suit you. Why not bring the whole family and set up with a picnic for a view of the fireworks later in the evening? Whatever you plan on doing in Niagara Falls for Victoria Day 2017, spending it here with us in this historic milestone year for Canada is sure to be a memorable experience the whole family can enjoy.
