Activities to keep you entertained in Niagara Falls should the rain be falling.
If rain is upon you whilst visiting Niagara Falls don’t panic! There is plenty to keep children and and adults alike entertained whilst you are here. Whether you want something fun, informative or culture based there are plenty of options to suit. Here are some of the most recommended:
Fallsview Indoor Waterpark
If you are going to get a soaking anyway, you may as well head to Fallsview Indoor Waterpark! Located just a two minute wall from Niagara Falls at 5685 Falls Avenue, it boasts 3 Acres of indoor family fun across its site.
You will find lots to keep the whole family entertained including 6 storey high waterslides, an incredible 1,000 gallon tipping bucket, a full sized wave pool, adult only jacuzzis and a children’s play area and much much more!
If it’s pouring outside why not head inside to view some beautiful butterflies? On the grounds of the Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens which is a 10 minute walk north of the Falls, you can find the Butterfly Conservatory.
Once inside you can view over 2,000 colourfully majestic butterflies floating freely amongst all the lush and exotic plants. You can follow the paths which will take you past a pond and a waterfall until you reach the Emergence Window, where you can see the butterflies leave their pupae and prepare to take their first flight!
If a cultural experience is more what you are craving, then Shaw Festival which runs from April through October 2017 is the place to head to, where you can witness some of the finest dramatic arts Canada has to offer.
The festival is in it’s 56th season with new creative director Tim Carroll taking the helm. There are a variety of shows to see including Dracula, The Madness of George III, An Octoroon and many more delights on offer.
The IMAX Theatre is where you can find two top attractions under one roof and is located right in the heart of Niagara’s tourist and entertainment district.
You can view the film Niagara: Miracles, Myths & Magic where you can learn more about The Falls and delve into its 12,000 year history, whilst also experiencing the incredible death defying stunts performed in Niagara Falls.
The theatre is also home to Niagara Daredevil exhibit which is also the largest exhibit of its kind. Everything is free for you to look and touch, afterall these artefacts survived some of the most insane stunts performed by the daredevils!
